I think I am getting better at blogging, since it's been less than five months since I updated last :) Yes, you read the title right. I am officially a model. A blow dry model. What is that, you might ask? Well, I saw a sign in a hair salon near my house that read "Blow Dry Models Needed" so I investigated. Turns out it is exactly what it sounds like. They need people to come in and let a hairstylist blow dry hair as a demonstration on how to do it properly for new hairstylists in training. And lucky me, I get to be that person- every Tuesday morning I get paid 40 euros to stand in front of groups of hairstylists while they blow dry my hair (then re-wet it, and blow dry it again, and then re-wet it, ect, ect...) So if any of you are intimidated, you should be. Me and Heidi Klum now share the same profession. I am sure I'll run into her soon. Here's a pic of my freshly blowdried hair (x4). It was really bright which is why I am squinty eyed.
Next item of business. I went to Carlingford, which is near Belfast. It's got some cool castles, cool priory, I tried to climb things (and got stuck, see pic below). Also this is where the last leprechauns in ireland live. We'll be returning on the 25th for the National Leprechaun hunt.
Also, we went to Howth, the home to both Bono and Enya. I'm pretty sure that's her house behind me-
We don't believe in conventional poses.
I made some airtime.
Yep, the stout hobbit in the back is, unfortunately, me.
Shamrock Shakes...SHAMROCK SHAKES!! Me and Layna wait anxiously for this time every year, and I put up with the constant comparing of my name to Shamrock, so these are the more delicious shakes in the world. And being in Ireland while having one was a truly magnificent experience.
And finally, bog bodies!! I've had a small obsession with them for a very long time, and it was one of the first things I saw when I got here. These bodies are amazingly preserved, and up to TWO THOUSAND years old!! incredible- especially the hair, the nails, even facial expressions. Also, they were brutally murdered- all of them. Even more intriging. That's why they are in bits and pieces- not because of the way they decayed, but because they were mutilated when alive. Read more about it!!! So cool!!
Oh and Ireland and Scotland had a match yesterday. There were a LOT of awesome people.
Here is my comment. I read it. lol
ReplyDeleteNot good enough. Go find a new blog to follow.

ReplyDeleteShamra. You make me want to visit Ireland today. Thanks for the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI am extremely jealous of your modeling job, I knew your stunning features would come in handy some day! I want to hear all about the 25th National Leprechaun Hunt when that happens. Your pictures are so beautiful, I love the ones by the water! And Shamrock shakes in Ireland?! Your life is so much better than mine.
